Shipping Bulky Items from 1688: A Quote Checklist
Before ordering a bulky product on 1688, request the dimensions and gross weight of the packed shipping units, then ask a logistics provider to quote delivery to your actual receiving location. Product dimensions alone are not enough to describe the shipment. A quote to a terminal also does not establish what delivery to your door will include.
Get a packing record from the supplier
Send the exact product, variant and quantity. Ask the supplier to distinguish an estimated packing plan from measurements of a finished package. Save the quote date and identify anything that still needs confirmation.

For panels or long items, ask for photos or a drawing of the proposed package. Give the transport provider that information and ask it to confirm acceptance. Do not assume a smaller product measurement will be used in the final shipping quote.
Describe the receiving location
State the country, city, postcode and whether the destination is a business or residential address. Describe access constraints you already know about: a narrow entrance, stairs, restricted delivery hours or a lack of unloading equipment. Ask which of these affects the proposed service.
Confirm where delivery ends. Does the offer cover a terminal, a loading area, kerbside delivery or another named point? Ask who arranges unloading, appointments and any onward movement. Treat an unanswered delivery question as an unresolved part of the quote.
Separate the quoted charges
Ask the provider to identify collection, origin handling, main transport, destination handling, final delivery and optional services separately, or explain exactly what its combined price covers. Record the billing basis and validity. Ask which documents and product information it needs to assess the shipment; verify destination-specific requirements with the responsible provider before committing.
For example, one offer might end at a terminal while another includes delivery to a warehouse loading area. These are different scopes even if the headline freight amounts are similar. Request matching delivery scopes before comparing totals. Unconfirmed destination charges should remain marked as pending.

Approve the final package before dispatch
Ask for the final unit count, measurements, weights and packing photos. Compare them with the quote assumptions and request a revised price if the package has changed. Confirm who records the condition at collection and receiving, and what evidence the agreed damage-reporting process requires.
